Day 4, 96 to go.....Experimentations with Algae and dodgy Soya flour flatbreads!!

Well,

How has today been? Mixed in truth. In terms of dietary goals, it has been fantastic, but I didn't make time to visualise this morning and charged off to chair a research meeting with my head in the clouds and Faithless booming from my stereo. Usually I set goals and review them on the train to work, and I will have to consider how to make space for this on the rare occasion I drive to an appointment. Still, Faithless was good and got me in the mood to put in a good performance at the meeting. I took the receptacle aptly named as my 'nutcase' with me (g), containing a mixture of un-salted organic delights and an apple to go with them. There is nothing like a mouthful of apple followed by a mouthful of nuts, so to speak.

In terms of focussing mostly on dietary goals.....perhaps this is a biggie to re-align, not that my pre-goal diet was horrific. It just needed tweaking, but tweaking takes time and energy, planning and dedication especially given the schedule I have had for the past fortnight. I am planning to spend the weekend doing that re-alignment I mentioned, though I did put some planned goals into action today:

  • I insisted we spend my hubby's birthday lunch in a place that would cater for my pure food needs and chose blackened tuna steak, corn chowder and sweet potato chips (g)
  • When faced with pudding menu I asked myself if a slab of praline cheesecake would really make me feel good and munched on a bowl of berries while the birthday boy tucked into his naughty treat (g)
  • I did have a double espresso, but must stress that I have not resolved to quit the 'black gold' and will take some persuading......
  • I took 100mg of Co-enzyme CQ
  • I made time in a busy schedule to visit a health food shop and bought spirulina (g), Lechithin (g), almonds and dried fruit along with Soya flour (g)
  • I took my Lechithin and Spirulina twice, and without gagging (g)
  • I looked in the mirror and said 'you're great!' (g)
  • I asked myself how I could do my job better (g)
  • I treated my hubby to nice surprises (g) for his birthday
  • I was kind to everyone I saw (g)
  • I made sure I was 'present' in every situation

So good stuff I feel, though I admit that I need to drink more water and my level of physical activity has been poor.....I really need to work on this one- it seems to be getting crowded out by genuine business, though I know that there are ways around this and I will find them

I am on the train tomorrow, so I will have time to focus........

Other observations......my failed Soya flatbreads! I promised my hubby a chicken, raw king prawn and chick pea tagines for dinner and decided to make gluten free flatbreads......not a good idea. The Soya flour doesn't bind and makes a kind of fluffy, broken, crumby mess that sticks to the back of your throat. Perhaps there is another flour I could try?????

I am looking forward to the benefits of the nutrients I am taking, especially for Liver support as some recent blood tests indicated a mildly raised level of enzymes. I am a little bit concerned about this and wonder if it was due to the fact that my fasting blood sample was taken on a day when I had had nothing by 11am except a huge cup of strong, fresh black coffee???

My general state of wellbeing is really good....I have shrunk around the belly and my level of bloatendess has halved....my undereyes seem tighter and my skin and eyes are looking fresh. I felt great today, if a little overwhelmed by thinks I had to get done. I am looking forward to some space at the weekend to start my Dax Moy 'Naked' plan and re-align those goals proper........

I am off to read yet another health mag I bought today in the health food shop and check up on how much spirulina I should be downing per day. Tastes like a duck pond, but never mind.

Not a bad day after all....infact, what a fabulous day!

xxx Jo
